Most of us have pretty busy schedules. Work, family, hobbies…they keep us on the go. You can’t help but interact with other people, but do you spend time with God? There’re people you talk to on a regular basis, but do you talk to God on a regular basis? If the answer is yes, you’ve made Him a part of your “circle.” If the answer is no, you aren’t going to see any fruit in your life! “’Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me, you can do nothing” (John 15:5). This is direct! You can’t do anything truly successful without God.
I hear people say they’re not seeing any fruit in their lives and they don’t feel close to God. This is the result of not trying! James 4:8: “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” When you reach out to God, He won’t ignore you. I’ve said many times before that He wants to have a relationship with you. You were created to be with other people and with God.
“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them” (Matthew 18:20). This is why having a circle of godly friends is significant. There’s power in numbers! The last thing the enemy wants is people gathering together to pray or to do anything in the name of Jesus. He’d rather see you—alone and friendless—trying to make it through life by yourself. None of this game called life works when you’re alone. Why do Christians try to do life alone? As a believer, you’re a part of the Body of Christ. What good is the hand if it’s not attached to the arm? And what good is the arm if detached from the shoulder? You see where I’m going with this! People need people, and people need God. “…we, though many are one body in Christ, and individual members one of another” (Romans 12:5).
Making it a priority; surround yourself with godly people. Don’t isolate yourself (Hebrews 10:25)!
