We’re jumping back into Pastor Ernie’s message today, and one of the main focuses will be IMPACT! The result of the early church’s strong relationships was that they made an impact. Pastor Ernie asked The Summit, “How can we as the church LOVE each other in such a way to become a MOVEMENT?” He outlined four ways this is a possibility.
Listen and learn from the Lord and one another! You cannot do life alone. You were meant to be in community with others, and one of the best ways to do that is to be supported by (and help support) your church.
Be open hearted to others who are different than ourselves! In the same way that you want to be accepted by others, be sure you don’t push anyone away simply because of differences.
Have vulnerability with our stories, weaknesses, strengths, and victories! Do you ever find it hard to be yourself? Being raw with others can be a real challenge. But what you’ll find is that doing so brings freedom. You’re not alone in any of your struggles or successes!
Encouragement, encouragements, and encouragement! Pastor Ernie explained the importance of encouraging people in their journeys. I’m sure you understand the power of encouragement. Sometimes, you can make or break a person with your words. Remember that when you’re building community with others or investing in them!
I’ll leave you with the same challenged Pastor Ernie left with The Summit on Sunday. Between now and Christmas begin investing in one person/family. Ask yourself, “Who is my +1?”
