If you got a chance to join us this past Sunday, you heard the powerful message that Pastor Ernie Frey shared! One of The Summit’s overseers and a longtime friend of mine, Pastor Ernie is always a blessing to be around. His message “Movement Relationships” focused on how to experience Christ, have a transformed life, and impact communities (Acts Chapter 2).
Having healthy Christian relationships is essential, and as Pastor Ernie said, “We cannot become like Christ apart from engagement and intimacy with others.” It has been harder to meet in small groups and meet as a church due to the COVID-19 situation, but if you’ll stay plugged in the best you can, this will help expand your relationships.
When you look at the book of Acts, you can see how the early church quickly grew and grew quickly. There are four main things they were doing to experience Jesus. They 1) experienced the life of Jesus, 2) had fellowship, 3) broke break together, and 4) prayed together as a church.
All of these experiences helped them find transformation.
“Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles” (Acts 2:43, NIV).
“All the believers were together and had everything in common” (Acts 2:44, NIV).
“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts…” (Acts 2:46, NIV).
We’ll take another look at Pastor Ernie’s message tomorrow! Today, try to think about ways you can stay connected to others/the Church and how you can be a part of a movement.
