You’ve gotten a green light before, right? That green light that tells you you’re good to go? I want you to understand the green light of love! As a follower of Christ, it’s important to know when you have the “go ahead” to tell others about Christ. You don’t need to wait—you can start sharing Jesus with others as soon as you put your faith in Him. The light turns green when you come to faith. “‘You are my witnesses,’” declares the Lord, “‘and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me'” (Isaiah 43:10, NIV).
It’s true that God sometimes speaks to you through open/closed doors. He gives you signs to help you navigate through life. But sometimes, He wants you to kick down doors. This is love taking actions. When God asks you to do something and there’s an obstacle in your way, take action. Figure out who/what stands in the way, deal with the issue, and keep going. Some people shut down when others judge them or tell them they’ve failed. You can be an overcomer. Earlier this week, I told you that God isn’t keeping score and scrutinizing your failures like the world is. Yes, He knows your sin and wants you to repent and change, but He’s forgiving. He never gives up on you. That being said, when you get an assignment from God, just say yes!
“I used to be afraid of failing at something that really mattered to me, but now I’m more afraid of succeeding at things that don’t matter” (Bob Goff). I love this quote from Goff because it’s a reminder to focus on what’s really important. What’s important? What matters? Love matters! Loving God results in serving Him, serving others, and making an impact on the world.
