Does it matter how much you love Jesus? Is it okay to be a Jesus fan but only when you feel like giving Him your attention? “For the eyes of the Lord move over all the earth so that He may give strength to those whose whole heart is given to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9). I hope this helps answers these questions! Yes, it does matter how much you love Him. You should be all in for Jesus!
One of the best ways to you can show your dedication to Jesus is to position yourself for a miracle! Exodus 14:13-14: “Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you: you need only to be still.’” Moses definitely had his moments of failure. But here we see him putting his trust in God and finding a way of escape. He was positioned for a miracle, and saw God part the sea so that His people could cross through.
There are three waypoints of proper positioning, all of which help prepare you to recognize and be receptive of miracles. The first waypoint is to be the right person. Being the right person means being and doing what’s right, even if the people closest to you aren’t doing this. And remember that the best way to change someone else’s heart is to change your own. Secondly, you need to be in the right place (in the middle of the harvest field)! In other words, if you’re excited about the grape harvest that’s taking shape in your vineyard, you don’t travel to the Sahara and start picking! And finally, you need to get where you’re going at the right time. When it’s harvest time, you need to get out there! It won’t last forever!
Are there consequences for not being all in for Jesus? Esther 4:14 answers this. “…if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Imagine the miracle Esther would have missed out on if she had turned away from God, rather that working to free her people. While God would have raised up someone else to fulfill this calling, Esther wouldn’t have been a part of the miracle or been the right person, at the right place, at the right time. Follow her example, and fight for what’s right.
