When it comes to your stuff, you need to cut back, clear out, and pay off— because less is more! Think about how overwhelmed you get when you go to your closet and see it overflowing with clothes. I bet that on more than one occasion you’ve said, “I’ve got nothing to wear!” When you have too much, you tend to get overwhelmed and think you need more options or maybe even betteroptions.
To start, cut back on the amount of stuff that you let enter your house, and on what you let enter and clutter your mind. From there, make a plan to clear out anything that is creating clutter. Finally, work toward paying things off! You don’t have to try and pay everything off at once but can start with one goal, say, paying off a credit card. Be willing to live with less, such as a smaller house, rather than fighting over the payments of a bigger house. Better to have a financial margin and be able to help others than to live paycheck to paycheck and have things you can’t really afford.
I believe that the richest people in the world are not those who have the most, but those who need the least. True wealth comes from having a passion for Jesus. You will feel like the richest person in the world if you learn to let go of your money and your possessions, acknowledge that everything belongs to the Lord, and embrace that having less equals more living!
